General Information & FAQs
What is Axe Throwing?
Well Axe throwing is Axe Throwing :P
BUT to expand further, axe throwing has been around since recorded history as a recreational activity in its many iterations….in modern day it has evolved into a fun social activity that has a mix of friendly competition as well. You toss axes and other approved items at a target from a set distance with many various scoring/game components. It can be as simple as tossing with friends all the way up to competitive professional axe throwing leagues!
I’ve never been, how does it work?
Here is some good information to know,
FIRST- make sure you have close toe shoes (this is required). SECOND- dress in what is comfortable for throwing and the weather, but no other requirement besides the shoes. THIRD- This is outside, we will have the throwing and lounge area shaded and covered from rain and sun, but make sure to have weather appropriate cloths for hot & cold days ( will have have heaters in winter, and fans/misters for summer…future plans for outdoor A/C fans) FOURTH- If you are intoxicated, for safety reasons, our staff will not allow you to participate. FIFTH-Ages 10+ can throw (must be accompanied by an adult & minors must have a waiver filled out by a parents/guardian)
Once you arrive, our staff will check waivers, take you to the lanes, go over rules, and basic throwing technique. They will also go over scoring and different types of games to play…for any questions of assistance they will be there to help all throughout the session.
Axe Throwing Rules
Colored lines - YELLOW: only 1 person per target inside this line WHITE: your throwing line RED: foul line, only cross this to retrieve your axe DO NOT throw if anyone is across this line.
Only throw at the targets, do not use the axes for chopping/hammering/any intentional damage to the building/bay/property, do not throw or hit targets point blank. Do not hit axes together. Do not make reckless/dangerous throws. Follow all instructors instructions
Can we have spectators?
YES, spectators of all ages are more than welcome to hangout and watch. They must fill out a waiver and are not allowed to throw.
What is walk in and cancelation policy?
Same rules/policies apply for all of our activities, we can do walk ins if we have availability. We recommend booking through our site, but you can always call to see if we can take walk ins
How many people can do it at once?
We are doing 5 max per target (10 per bay). We have 4 targets now, so 20 right this moment, but we have room and plans to expand in the near future.
What about food and alcohol?
Folks are more than welcome to bring their own food (just let our staff know ahead of time).
We are working on getting approved to sell beer/wine/seltzers, but it is not done at this time so no alcohol as of now.
(alcohol will only be for axe throwing, not rage or splatter bookings)
Can I bring my own items to throw?
Yes, but our staff must inspect/approve all outside throwing items. We recommend calling prior to see if an item could be approved before bringing it.
(We are not responsible for any damages to personal throwing items)
